無料でたくさんの本が読めるとなると、英語の勉強にもなりますね！

今日はそんな、図書館のサービスを利用するおはなしです。

メンバーシップカードは一度作ってしまえば、WA全土で利用可能！

Join the Library! Free membership is available at the State Library for all WA residents. Access online resources from home and borrow collection items.

メンバーシップを作るためには、身分証明書が必要になります。

流れとしてはこんな感じ

自分の住むCityのウェブサイトに行って、オンライン登録をする
↓
24時間以内に自動の登録完了のメールが送られてくる
↓
数日後、メンバーシップナンバーが送られてくる
↓
このメンバーシップナンバーで eRescuesを使うことができる！ 

実際に図書館で本を借りる場合はカードが必要になりますが、オーディオブックなどの e ResoucesはメンバーシップナンバーだけでOK！

カードは登録した図書館でうけとりできます。
メールが届いた後に、図書館に行って指定の身分証明書を見せれば発行してもらえます！

e Rescuesはいくつか種類があります。
自分が使いたいものを試して探してみるのもあり！

私は基本的に本やオーディオブックを借りることが多いのですが、一番初めのLibbyを愛用中！
ダウンロードも早いし、貸出期間が終わりそうな時や、順番待ちの通知もちゃんとくるし。
すごく使いやすいです。

手にとれる本はもちろん、eResoucesと呼ばれる電子書籍・オーディオブック・雑誌・音楽・映画・文献・新聞などなど。

おもったよりも幅が広くて使える！

知名度があまり高く無いのか、人気のものでもすぐ借りられる確率が高いようなイメージ。
映画になっている小説や今流行りのものも借りられます。

借りられる期間は２週間。
一人２０冊まで借りることができます。

【おまけ】電子書籍は英語学習に適している！説

個人的に電子書籍は洋書を読むのにいいと思うんです。

テクノロジーがそこまで発展していなかった数年前。
洋書を読むのに、電子辞書片手にわからない単語をかたっぱしから調べて読んでいました。

時間もかかるし、読んでいる内容もわからなくなるし全然楽しくなかった覚えがあります。

それが今や。

＼親指一つで意味が調べられる時代／

iPhoneからは、わからない単語を長押しして、
“Look up”を選択すると、簡単に単語の意味を出してくれます。

（上のアプリを利用する場合はおそらく”Define”などという感じででるかも！ ）

時間もかからないし一瞬で調べられるのが私は好きで、図書カードを作ってから本を読む機会が増えました。
みなさんもやってみてね！

コロナを機に急速に普及した電子書籍。

それがまさか、無料で！
しかも自分の携帯から読むことができるのは、本当にありがたいですね。
（しかもわざわざ図書館に行かなくていいのがかなり便利！笑
